TEDxSheffield returns on the afternoon of Tuesday the 11th June, for another exhilarating afternoon of ideas and stories presented by some truly amazing people.

Although the programme is still evolving, we expect the schedule will be similar to recent years with registration starting around 12:30pm, the event proper kicking off at 1:30pm and running through till roughly 5:30.

This year we are thrilled to welcome speakers from the worlds of robotics, medicine, filmmaking, technology, activism, fashion, dance and culture. What is a TEDx event?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxSheffield, where x = independently organized TED event.

At our TEDxSheffield event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
